RNBA Acknowledges Efforts of all Rowing Athletes



This past year has been a full and busy year for Rowing New Brunswick Aviron and a very successful for our athletes. It is important to note that much of our success would not be possible if it were not for our members, volunteers, coaches and umpires who have provided so much of their time, energy, leadership, selfless commitment and dedication that has made this past year a success on all fronts. Thank you to every one who contributed to the success of our athletes and to our organization.

This year RNBA acknowledged the efforts of those who helped make this year a success. A nominating committee was organized and here are your results.

Male Athletes of The Year: Alex Hall & Dan Guest

Female Athlete of The Year: Stacey Norwood

Volunteer of The Year: April Nason, Canada Tearm Manager for Rowing Team NB.

Coach of The Year: Kim Norris. This is Kim's second award for Coach of the Year. This year during the National Coaching Conference in Alberta, Kim was presenteed with RCA's Coach of the Year award. (for more info please visit www.rowingcanada.org )

This year, RNBA also acknowledged the coaching efforts of Craig Jollymore. Craig has dedicated his time and energy to the development of provincial and club athletes. Craig has been volunteering his time for over ten years and had the opportunity to go to Canada Games as assistant coach for the provincvial team.

The President's award was presented to two receipients for their selfless dedication to the achievement of athletic development in the sport of rowing.

The first President's Award was presented to Kenneth Irving. Mr. Irving was also presented with plaque from the Canada Games Team for his contributions for athletic training for our athletes.

The second President's Award was presented to Chris Flood, VP of High Performance. Chris has been with RNBA was a countless number of years, and has provided our athletes with his knowledge as a former member of the National Team, and his dedication to the athletes and to the Provincial Board must be acknowledged, for it is without a doubt that his selfless commitment with continue throughout the coming year.

I would also like to thank Charles Thornton, Chief Umpire for Rowing NewBrunswick for his years of dedicated service. Charles has stepped down this year and Louise Beland will be assuming the duties as Chief Umpire for Rowing New Brunswick Aviron.
