To become an Rowing Canada Aviron -Licensed Umpire, here are the steps to take:
1. Register for an umpires' course. It is a course on the basic Rules of Racing. Once you've completed this course, you are an associate umpire.
2. As an associate umpire, gain experience by officiating in sanctioned regattas under the mentorship of a Licensed umpire.
3. Take the practical examination. If you pass, you become an Rowing Canada Aviron-Licensed Umpire.
